Annabelle will turn 8 years old next month. She has been asking me CONSTANTLY to let her sit in the front seat. We've lived in a few different states, and I keep getting confused about the seat belt/front seat/air bag rules, so I mostly just say "Not yet", and send her to the back seat with the boys.
Besides, if I let her sit in the front seat, where would my Starbucks sit?
:)
Do you remember fighting with siblings over who got to ride in the front seat? My brother and I were vicious about it. We fought like animals about most everything, but the front seat was the most coveted spot. I don't know how my Mom made it through our childhood with her sanity intact. She may be a saint.
My Dad would just command, "STOP." and we stopped. I'm perfecting my angry eye and deep voice, but my kids still don't take me seriously.
Iowa -younger than 1 year and less than 20 pounds in a rear-facing child seat;
1 through 5 years in car seat or appropiate booster
6 through 10 years seat belt and for this state
law states no preference for rear seat
SANITY WHO HAS THEIR SANITY!?

Our childbirth class teacher went on a big tangent and tried to make all of us promise not to let our babies ride in the front seat until they were twelve. I've doubted we could make it that long...
Happy birthday to Annabelle. And to you - being a mama for eight whole years!!

We were sworn to 12, too! Right now, Gracie is just so SAD that she only weighs 36 lbs, because she is still 4 pounds away from a BOOSTER. I might start feeding her lard this summer so she doesn't have to start kindergarten as an almost-six-year-old in a baby carseat :P

we go with not just age, but how tall you are. Its important that belt its you in all the right places.
Sadly, we are at a point where everyone fits in the front...fortunately, stretch, now the tallest person in the house, gets dibs unless both parents are riding. AND he can't sit in the middle anywhere because he blocks the view. AND when he sits in the back there isn't room for his feet.
Anyone know a minivan that will fit 3 people (in the back) that are over 6 foot, 'cause we'll be there soon.

I love the backseat than the front seat. Love your starbucks. =)

I think wherever you seat, you will probably enjoy it... just sip your Starbucks and listen to your Ipod. Enjoy!
