1. I’ve seen the movie “You’ve Got Mail” a RIDICULOUS amount of times.
2. I can’t handle scary movies. at all. The last “scary” movie (not
suspenseful, just freaking scary) was almost 9 years ago with my
brother. And then I didn’t want to go to my own bed after it was over.
3. I absolutely love the smell of pipe tobacco, but get grossed out by men who slobber all over their pipes. ew.
4. I have a phone phobia, and refuse to answer the phone unless I know
who it is, what they want, and have time to talk. I’m a call screener,
and I’m not afraid to admit it. (there are few exceptions, and they
include immediate family and my BFF Katie)
5. Our family lived in Mexico for 4 months in 2005, and we would move
to Mexico tomorrow if we knew that it was possible financially. (San
Miguel de Allende)
6. If you look up the Oct. 2007 issue of Better Homes and Gardens
magazine “Scrapbooks, Etc.”, you’ll see my little Annabelle on the
cover! It was a very exciting event for our family. Somebody saw a
photo of her online at 2 peas and e-mailed me to see if they could use
it for their “sports themed” cover (she was holding a soccer ball)
7. Up until recently, I almost never drank. I don’t like beer or wine,
but about 4 years ago I discovered that I love rum. One night, Dustin
made a big pitcher of pina coladas, and I only drank a little of it,
and froze the rest. Then I sat down to watch Friends and ate, like…all
of it. Enough for a few large drinks, at least. Like it was ice cream.
That was one of only 2 or 3 times that I can remember being tipsy. (I
walked face-first into our fireplace)
8. The only time that I will admit to ever actually being drunk, was
with my brother, sister and MOM in Chicago. They video taped me, and
then my sweet mother shared the very unflattering video with several
family members over Christmas. Good times.
9. I was in a plane accident in Africa when I was 19. I love to travel,
but I have a very hard time flying. The weird part is that I only want
to fly alone now, never never with my family.
10. I once shaved stripes into my eyebrows b/c I loved Kriss Kross. I was awesome.
11. The first song that came on in the car after Dustin kissed me for
the first time was “Fell in Love at 22” by Starflyer 59. It was
instantly added to my “Favorite songs of all time” list.
12. I’ve only sang Karaoke one time in my life (in front of an actual
bar full of people) and it was with my cousin Misty, my brother CJ and
my friend Emily at an Applebee’s. (or was it a TGI Friday’s? ) We sang
“Love Shack” and we rocked the joint.
13. I took my cousin Ben to my junior Prom. I think we had the most fun of anybody else there.
14. One time when I was 13, I was on a trip to Nicaragua with a youth
group. We were sitting in an old van with the windows open, waiting on
our leaders to get in the car, and a couple of Nicaraguan guys walked
past the van, and one of them stuck their head in the window and kissed
me. I was SO. VERY. EMBARRASSED. I was the youngest one in our group,
and the older girls teased me about it a lot.
15. I also pooped in my pants on the same trip, after trying to avoid
using the very public bathroom for an entire week. TMI? Sorry. I can
laugh about it now, but I was mortified for years.
16. the best gift I ever received was my first camera.
17. I’ve never seen “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
18. I ate my first salad when I was 18.
19. I think I could eat nothing but raspberries and asparagus during
the summer and be perfectly content. well, chocolate too, but that’s an
obvious one.
20. I so badly would love to be Ina Garten’s neighbor. (the Barefoot Contessa)
21. I spend several hours a week in Barnes & Noble, by myself. It’s
my special alone time, and it’s really the only “me” time that I have
right now. I don’t ever buy anything (other than the occasional latte
or frappuccino from the Starbuck’s downstairs) but it’s my most highly
anticipated time of the week.
22. I can count the number of times that I cooked in our first year of marriage. (less than 10)
23. I am a big fan of making lists. Not just to-do lists, but things
like “cities I’ve visited” and “concerts I’ve been to” and things like
that.
24. I am icked out by loose wet hair, like in a bathtub. Will dry heave
if I have to clean out the drain. Also hate touching styrofoam.
25. The first time I met Dustin, he sang several Willie Nelson songs to
me before ever saying hello. I thought he was the weirdest man I had
ever met. So of course, I married him.
